The Philosopher’s Stone recipe was created in 1998 when Wilamina Wormwood first started soap-making, and she presented it as the cornerstone recipe at The Original Renaissance Faire in Southern California, as her booth was called The Alchemist Tree Soapsmiths.
Fifteenth and sixteenth century Alchemists sought out concrete answers that would solve the mysteries of all that is earthen and mystical.
Forging ahead in a search for illumination through raw elements in nature, they coined a credo which translated from Latin reads,
“Visit the interior of the earth; through purification thou wilt find the hidden stone.”
Borrowing from the Alchemist’s ancient theory,
this theatrical “Philosopher’s Stone” Soappe is made through the introduction of botanical elements & treatments leading to the purification of oneself through the healing attributes of sea salt, and will gently exfoliate & soften skin leaving behind “a radiant glow reminiscent of gold.”

Special note: When Wilamina first started making Washwares, she did not know about Harry Potter! But when she discovered the beloved book series, 6 years later, in 2004, it was only fitting for this wonderful recipe to find its permanent home in the Witch+Washwares Collection, est. 2010.

Minted Citrus with Sea Salt
Hand-crafted, Vegan, and palm-oil free soap made with saponified oils of olive and coconut. Natural, organic, and food-grade botanicals, micas, and mineral iron oxides are used to create the unique colors, swirls, and textures for each recipe while high quality, cosmetic-grade essential and fragrance oil potions are thoughtfully blended for each magical brew.
